Vision 2020

A VISION OF KINGSWOOD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN THE YEAR 2020

This Vision Summary document is a different approach to visioning than the single vision statement format that is customarily used. It is a “collection of visions” from the major areas of ministry at Kingswood UMC.

The Vision 2020 Committee members, motivated by their passionate love for Kingswood, have prepared this document with the intent of providing the reader with a “word picture” of Kingswood in the year 2020 as we see it in our hopes and dreams.

We have sought God’s inspiration with prayer individually and as a Committee and have attempted to keep in mind that even though our words are used, it is His Vision.

Our hope and expectation is that our Vision will create a sense of excitement and desire in the hearts of Kingswood’s Church Council as our leadership team, both Clergy and Laity, and that they will be motivated to challenge the membership to develop the commitment needed to reach the Vision.

The Vision 2020 Committee wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to the Congregation for their prayers and support during the development of this Vision and to our Senior Pastor Dr. Dave E. Benson, our church staff and other members of the leadership team for their wisdom and guidance.

This Vision summary is not considered by the Vision 2020 Committee to be a “final or complete” document.

The Vision 2020 Committee recommends the Kingswood Church Council use this as a “working document” and that we dedicate the time and resources needed on an annual basis to update the Vision.
