 TROOP 477 PRESS RELEASE - April 29, 2005

Stephen Russell Thomas 
Achieves Eagle Scout Rank

 

Dunwoody, GA.  (April 29, 2005) - Boy Scout Troop 477, chartered to Kingswood United Methodist Church, Dunwoody, GA is pleased to announce an Eagle Court of Honor for Stephen Russell  Thomas, to be held at Kingswood United Methodist Church on May 7, 2005.

 

A Dunwoody High School Graduate, Stephen was awarded the Eagle Scout Rank by the National Council of Boy Scouts of America on December 16, 2004.

Stephen’s Eagle Scout Project involved construction of a walkway providing easier access to Peachtree Charter Middle School and building benches around the basketball court, as well as cleanup and beautification of the campus of Chestnut Elementary School.

Stephen has been a scout since 1992 with Pack 477 and Troop 477 and has been a Dunwoody resident his entire life. He is a member of the scouting honor society, “Order of the Arrow”. He has participated in numerous civic projects for the Boy Scouts in the area. He attended Vanderlyn Elementary, Peachtree Middle, and Dunwoody High Schools. While at Dunwoody High School, he participated in the National Honor Society, Beta Club, and the Marching Band. He is currently a freshman at Georgia Tech, majoring in Computer Engineering.
