 TROOP 477 PRESS RELEASE

David Cohen
Achieves Eagle Scout Rank

Dunwoody, GA.  (December 17, 2002) - Boy Scout Troop 477, chartered to Kingwood United Methodist Church, Dunwoody, GA is pleased to announce that David Cohen has been officially awarded the rank of Eagle Scout by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America. David was presented to his Eagle Scout Board Of Review December 8, 2002 by his Scoutmaster, Mr. Robert D. Melton.

David joined Boy Scouts at the age of 14, and worked hard to catch up with many of his peers who had the advantage of beginning their Scouting careers at age 11, or sooner in Cub Scouts.

He enjoys backpacking and camping, and is looking forward to a backcountry Trek at the Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimmeron, New Mexico with a crew from Troop 477 that will include his dad, Dan Cohen.

Eagle Scout Cohen is a member of Congregation Ariel in Dunwoody, GA where he is active in the synagogue youth group.  For his Eagle Scout project, he enhanced the safety of the synagogue play area and landscaped the area adding several benches so both parents and children could enjoy the area.

He is a junior at New Atlanta Jewish Community High School where he is on the youth orchestra and is applying for the National Honor Society.

David will be recognized at an Eagle Court Of Honor, to be announced at a later date.
