Nicholas Alexander Lichirie
Achieves Eagle Scout Rank
|
Dunwoody, GA. (May, 2009)
-
Boy Scout Troop 477,
chartered to Kingswood United Methodist Church, is pleased to announce that
Nicholas Alexander Lichirie, son of Marcia and Bill Lichirie of Dunwoody,
has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Nick completed his Eagle Board of Review
on April 30th, 2009. Nick is the 93rd Eagle Scout from Troop 477
since it was chartered to Kingswood in 1972.
Nick’s Eagle Scout Project
consisted of cleaning up the Ebenezer Primitive Baptist Church cemetery,
removing large overgrown hedges, planting trees, clearing up an over
grown grave site, and re-erecting a fallen monument.
Nick joined Troop 477 in 2002
and has been an active member participating in many of the Troop’s outdoor
activities and service projects. He has held many Troop leadership positions
including Senior Patrol Leader (SPL), Assistant Senior Patrol Leader,
Scribe, Summer Camp SPL, Patrol Leader, and Troop Guide. One of the
highlights of Nick's Scouting adventures was riding in a helicopter from
summer camp at Woodruff Scout Reservation in Blairsville, GA, to Grady
Hospital in Atlanta, although the reason for the ride was not part of the
Scouting adventure. Nick suffered serious second degree burns to his right
arm and leg in an accident while at camp.
Nick is a senior at Dunwoody
High School where he is a member of the Technology Student Association and
Future Business Leaders of America. He is an active member of Dunwoody
United Methodist Church where he currently works in the Leisure Ministries
Department as a site supervisor. After graduation, Nick will attend Kennesaw
State University where he plans to study Finance and Accounting.
Boy Scout Troop 477 will join
with Nick and his family and the Scouting Community at large, in celebration
of his achievement at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor to be held at 2:00 PM,
Saturday May 23, 2009, in the Sanctuary at Kingswood United Methodist
Church. A reception will be held immediately following at the Lichirie's
home on Welton Place in Dunwoody.
