Kingswood's Scouting MinistryBoy Scouts Of America Kingswood is proud to sponsor three units of the Boy Scouts of America: Cub Scout Pack 477, Boy Scout Troop 477, and Venture Crew 477.
Kingswood’s Cub Scout Pack 477 conducts monthly meetings where the individual Dens meet as a group in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Since 1930, the Boy Scouts of America has helped younger boys through Cub Scouting. It is a year-round family program designed for boys who are in the first grade through fifth grade (or 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of age).
Boy Scout Troop 477 meets every Thursday from 7:30 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. in the Scout Hut located on the church grounds. Scouting has been described as a game with a purpose. The game is fun and adventure in the outdoors. The purpose is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Scouting offers adventures young people enjoy, teaches them lifetime values and skills, and introduces them to leadership. To learn more about Kingswood’s Boy Scout Troop 477, please log on to their Web site at www.kingswoodumc.org/troop477.
Venture Crew 477 is a co-ed unit of the BSA for ages 14 through 20. The Venture Crew focuses on high adventure outdoor activities and Christian community service. Contact the church office for more information about Venturing, or visit the Crew web site at: www.kingswoodumc.org/crew477.
