Information for Parents
Parent Participation and Responsibility:
Parents are encouraged to
participate with their sons. Parent
participation is required at some activities like family camping.
In many circumstances such as family camping, siblings are welcome
too. Parents are
also encouraged to volunteer to assist with activities.
Parents or Guardians are always
responsible for their child's transportation.
The Pack and its leaders do not take responsibility for
transportation. Parents
should also plan to participate with their child.
Meetings:
Pack 477 has monthly Pack Meetings
and Den Meetings are typically held 2 times a month.
There may be additional Den activities that are based on the Den
Leader and Den Parents planning. Pack
Committee Meetings are held monthly and all parents are invited to attend.
Uniforms:
Boy Scouts wear uniforms to
demonstrate our commitment to scouting along with building camaraderie.
Scouts are strongly encouraged to wear the appropriate uniform to
scout events.
Class A Uniforms:
Tiger Cubs: Tigers
wear blue scout shirts, and
optional blue pants
Wolfs and Bears: Blue scout shirts,
caps, belt, neckerchiefs, and optional blue pants
Webelos:
Either Blue uniform or Khaki uniform
Class B Uniforms: Pack T-shirt or other
scout T-shirt.
Finance:
Annual dues are $75.
This fee covers Boy Scouts of America Dues, Boys Life Magazine,
many pack activities, books, and awards.
Fund Raiser - we have one annual
fundraiser - selling popcorn.
Specific Activity Fees - There may
be activity fees for specific events like District Cuboree, Campouts, and
Banquets. Most of the time,
these are fees we are being charged and they are just passed on.
