GRIEFSHARE
meets every Thursday, 7:00 - 9:00 pm. This
13-week program features biblical, Christ-centered teaching that
focuses on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one.
Participants will find encouragement, comfort and help in grieving
the death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, other family member
or friend. Our program is open to the community. For more
information, please call Regina Maxfield (770-315-8301) or go to
www.griefshare.org.
Help our youth and the earth
at the same time!
We have started a recycling program to help raise funds for our
youth ministry. We’re accepting empty inkjets, laser toners,
laptops, I-pods & cell phones. Drop boxes are in the youth rooms,
Welcome Center and CLC Lobby. Thanks for supporting us!
YOUTH NEWS:

Out of the Box provides new and out-of-the-ordinary ways to
tell the Good News. Music, drama, movement and multi-media
experiences allow middle and high-school students to be the
creators. There are many ways to tell the story and exploring the
possibilities is part of the fun. This group meets 6:30 - 7:20 pm
on Wednesdays in room 226.
Roswell Ghost Tour – October 30 – This is a two-hour
walking tour of historic Roswell which, according to
their web site, will explore
“real paranormal activity in the area”. The tour is 7:00 - 9:00
pm. We’ll leave the church at 6:15 pm and will return between
9:30 and 10:00 pm. The cost of the tour is $15. We’ll need a
head count for this trip so please register by October 23.
Mission Opportunities:
KUMC Youth is partnering with Winters Chapel UMC to help with
their ESOL classes on Thursday, November
3. We’ll help with crafts, snacks and possibly even provide some
homework assistance. This is a great way for you to get involved
with local missions. We’ll meet at the church at 6:30 pm and
return between 8:45 and 9:00 pm. Please contact Dondra Davis
(ddavis@kingswoodumc.org)
if you plan to go.

Basketball Coaches Needed! Every year at this time,
Kingswood participates in a church basketball league. This is an
opportunity for our children to have fun and stay healthy. They
meet other children and compete in an environment that affirms our
Christian values. We need coaches to help us make this program a
huge success. If you love children and love the game of
basketball and would like to share your love, then please sign up
to coach in our league this year. Contact Pastor Kent
(770-457-1317 x25 or
sportsdir@kingswoodumc.org).
Basketball! It’s time to sign up for our children’s
basketball league. We have teams for both boys and girls ages
5-14. Ages 5-6 play in a co-ed intramural league here at
Kingswood. They practice and play on Friday nights. We will have
teams for boys and girls ages 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. These
teams have practice on a week night and play their games on
Saturday. We play in a league with other churches in the area. The
games rotate between the churches in the league. The season starts
on November 7 and runs until March 8. Register now!
Sports
and Fitness information is available at
www.kingswoodumc.org, in the Welcome Center, in the church
office, or by contacting Kent Burel (770-457-1317 x25 or
sportsdir@kingswoodumc.com).
