"The Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children is an ecumenical (promoting or fostering Christian unity throughout the world) ministry whose mission is to ease the burden of homelessness for women and children by providing basic and daily necessities while respecting their human dignity. The Shelter is committed to assisting individuals in their resettlement and independence." Kingswood supports this shelter by providing financial support, supplies and volunteers. As you can imagine this is ongoing struggle but this is truly a struggle where God's work shines.
Read a survery conducted by Georgia State University on homeless people in Atlanta, it gives their answers to questions we are all curious about concerning people who visit this type of shelter. It's at http://aysps.gsu.edu/nonprofit/working/HomelessnessReport_102805.pdf. The questions & answers start on page 51 of the report.
