Dear
Kingswood Family,
Mary and I have made an attempt to contact each family in our
church to express the sense of excitement that we feel about my
appointment to Kingswood. We look forward to becoming active members of
the Kingswood family and getting to know each of you.
As you get to know me you will find that I have a passion for
preaching and teaching. You will also find that I am very much a people
person. I look forward to having many years of successful ministry with
and for you.
I had the opportunity to visit the church
during VBS and was very impressed with the level of volunteerism and
energy that I saw. I also had the opportunity to meet many of the
members of Kingswood and want to say thank you to them for their
encouragement and expressions of welcome.
I have been in prayer for the health of our church and know that
God has great things in the plan for Kingswood. When I read that you
have a mission of being “a personal church in an impersonal
world” the thought that came to mind was that it was a great reflection
of the attitude of Jesus. Please know that I will do all in my power to
help our church reach that goal.
Please know that I look forward to loving
you and becoming your pastor.
Be Blessed,
Rev. Chuck
Meet the Jackson Four!
Please
make plans to join together on Sunday, July 6th at 9:45 a.m. for a
Fellowship Breakfast in the CLC Gym welcoming the “Jackson Four,” a local
Dunwoody family who felt called to serve God in Ghana, West Africa, by
assisting the local community in building a potable water supply! Come meet
the family and hear their inspiring story of the "Jackson Journey.”
Kingswood supports this family through our mission giving, so don’t miss
this wonderful opportunity to learn how your mission donations are being
used to serve others. Adult Sunday School will not be held on the 6th in
order to allow everyone to attend.

VBS A Great Success,
Missions Goal Exceeded
The 2008 Vacation Bible School has come and gone, but will last long in
the minds of both children and adults who participated. The VBS Kid's
Missions goal was to raise enough money for Honduras Outreach to send a
child, Deyli Virginia Pacheco Pacheco, a female 7th grader, to school
for one or two years. Tuition for one year is about $250.00. The
children were all pleased to learn that their efforts raised enough
money to send Deyli to school for FOUR YEARS! That is $1000. Surely a
VBS record. The whole Kingswood congregation can be proud of their VBS
kids.
