Presents Becoming a Love and LogicŪ Parent Classes
Partners in Parenting, a
unit of the
Kingswood United Methodist
Church’s (KUMC)
Family Ministries, seeks to offer support to parents to enhance their
parenting skills and to support their family faith journey and Christian
leadership. One of the ways that Partners in Parenting does this is by
periodically offering parenting classes. Based on the nationally known
and respected
Becoming
a Love and Logic ParentŪ program and led by trained Love and LogicŪ
Facilitator and KUMC member, Melissa Dillon, classes provide
participants with the everyday, practical skills needed to help them
become happier, more confident parents. Billed as “America’s most
practical and entertaining parent training,” Love and LogicŪ helps
parents address many of their day-to-day frustrations. The class
provides a toolkit of skills that can be used immediately to address
everyday parenting issues like, “How do I get my kids ready to walk out
the door for school on time?,” and “How do a handle toddler misbehavior
in public without a scene?” or bigger issues, like “How do I raise kids
who are likely to make good choices for themselves as teenagers?” The
skills are timeless, with successful techniques and strategies for all
ages. To learn more about the Love and LogicŪ program, log on to their
website at www.loveandlogic.com.
At
Kingswood United Methodist Church,
the class typically meets weekly for eight two-hour sessions. The first
seven provide instructional techniques, and the final session is a
practicum for parents to brainstorm together and share their techniques,
concerns and successes. The cost is typically $100 per individual or
$175 per couple with childcare available. If you are interested in
taking this series or to see when it may be offered again, please
